The Veterinary Team

        Gladstone Animal Clinic is committed to providing you with the most diverse and experienced veterinarians to meet your pet's individual needs.  Our veterinary team is comprised of seven licensed veterinarians all skilled in both medicine and surgery as well as individual specialty interests to help provide you and your pet with the best in veterinary health care.

Larry Richards, DVM was born in Kansas City, Kansas.  He is a graduate of Wyandotte High School.  He attended Kansas State University where he was a member of the Phi Zeta Honor Society and Delta Chi fraternity.  He completed an internship in veterinary medicine at Gladstone Animal Clinic in 1973.  Dr. Richards graduated with his degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1974.  Dr. Richards has enjoyed being a part of Gladstone Animal Clinic for the past 24 years.  He originally joined the staff of  staff of Gladstone Animal Clinic in 1974 and then became a partner with Dr. John Clifford in 1977.  Dr. Richards is currently a member of the Kansas  City Veterinary Medical Association, Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.  He is a Boy Scout Troop Leader, AWANA leader and enjoys reading, fishing, camping, hiking, model building, and traveling.  He is married with two children.


Jeffery Schlager, DVM was born in Mexico, Missouri.  He enjoyed working part-time for a veterinarian all through high school.  He attended the University of Missouri-Columbia where he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.  In 1987 he received a Bachelor of Science Degree with honors in Agriculture.  Dr. Schlager graduated from the college of Veterinary Medicine in 1990 and was awarded the Edgar F. Ebert Memorial Award in recognition of outstanding proficiency in large animal medicine and surgery.  He also received the Hill's Pet Products Senior Student Award for his clinical report on dietary management of animals.  After graduating, Dr. Schlager joined a small animal & equine practice in Pennsylvania where he practiced for three years.  In 1993, he decided to return to his home state of Missouri to join the staff at Gladstone Animal Clinic.  In July of 1996 Dr. Schlager became a partner with Dr. Richards when Dr. Clifford retired.  Dr. Schlager is currently a member of the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association, Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.  Dr. Schlager has many horses and both dogs and cats.  He enjoys fishing, boating, water skiing, golfing, and snow skiing.  He is married with five children.

Corey Entriken, DVM was born in Wichita, Kansas and graduated from Bishop Carroll High School in 1984.  He attended Kansas Newman College and Kansas State University.  In 1988 he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology.  Dr. Entriken graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University in 1992 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree.  He has previously worked at a veterinary practice in Moline, Illinois.  In 1993, he decided to join the staff of Gladstone Animal Clinic.  His particular area of interest is exotic animal medicine.  Dr. Entriken is currently a member of the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association, Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Kansas City Herpetology Society.  He enjoys herpetology (study of reptiles), gardening, and photography.  He is married with two children.

Dianne Barr, DVM a native of Gladstone, graduated from Oak Park High School.  She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia as an honors scholar in 1982 with a degree in Biochemistry.  She then went on to attend the School of Veterinary Medicine where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1986.  Dr. Barr began practicing veterinary medicine at Gladstone Animal Clinic in 1986.  In 1993 she decided to leave Gladstone Animal Clinic to do her Masters Residency at the University of Illinois.  While attending the University of Illinois, she worked in the State Diagnostic Laboratory, was an instructor of toxicology, researched mycotoxins, and worked with the National Animal Poison Control Center.  Because of her great devotion to animals and their owners, she chose to return to Gladstone Animal Clinic in 1996.  Dr. Barr is currently a member of the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association, Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.  She enjoys her dogs and cats, sewing, gardening, and needlework.

Andrew Rambo, DVM was born in Independence, Missouri and attended William Chrisman High School.  He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pre-professional Zoology in 1992 from Northwest Missouri State University.  Although he had a strong interest in wildlife biology, he decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.  He received the Gilbreath-McLorn Scholarship at the University of Missouri and the Adrian J. Durrant Award for Avian Medicine.  He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1996 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree.  Dr.Rambo is currently a member of the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association, Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.  He has previously completed a preceptorship at the Kansas City Zoo, and is a past President of the Raptor Rehabilitation Program in Columbia, MO.  His hobbies include a special interest in animal behavior, reading, working with computers, writing, and is the author and webmaster of GladVets.com.  He currently lives in Kansas City North where he is married with twin daughters. 

David Stanley, DVM was born in Wichita, Kansas.  He was raised in Augusta, Kansas, where he graduated from Augusta High School in 1997.  He attened Butler Community College and Kansas State University.  He was an honor student and a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Alpha Zeta, and Golden Key National Honor Society.  He graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science.  Dr. Stanley received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Kansas State University in 2005.  He has previously worked at Augusta Animal Clinic in Augusta, Kansas.  In 2006, he decided to join the staff of Gladstone Animal Clinic, LLC.  He is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association, and the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association.  Dr. Stanley has two cats named Harry and Neko.  He enjoys watching Formula 1 and Nascar, reading, bowling, listening to music, and watching movies.
